Hacked!!!

That's it!!! I've had it!!! There's a hacker on the loose and I'm being driven to the loony bin!!!

See this beautiful face? Don't let her fool you! She's a hacker in disguise! She only looks sweet and innocent! And the butterfly only adds to that!

Ok, people, calm down. She's not really hacking into computers. Altho that might be kinda cool depending on what she could get out of it.

I think they're both cute, but that's just my opinion. But still, you don't want your child to sound like she should be in the zoo!!

Thankfully she's no where near as bad as she used to be. She usually only needs her medicine in the morning and again before bed. Her first attack at 18 months sent her straight to the hospital. It was downright scary! I know it sounds horrible, but I am glad that my brother went through the same thing. My mom was there to tell me exactly what to do and what to say to the doctors. Over the next 3 years, she was in the hospital another time and had pneumonia twice - the first of which almost sent her to the hospital again!. It took a few months for the doctors to officially diagnose her (even tho everyone knew what she had). She had to take 2 different breathing medicines a few times a day, occasionally steroids, and a pill before bed. Let me tell you how much fun it is to ween a child off of steroids. Ugh!!

Ok, enough rambling....

Paige was up all night coughing and coughing. Seriously, I thought there was a run away seal in the house! Needless to say, I called her off of school. I figured staying home, resting, and taking medicine was better than sending her and most likely getting a phone call by lunch to pick her up. Now the medicine she takes is albuterol. If you know anything about said medicine, it makes you hyper. Now Paige is not a quiet child to begin with so adding the medicine to the mix plus a little brother who likes to pester the mess out of her...I wanted to pull my hair out by mid-afternoon!

Altho the highlight of the day was when she wanted to teach Mike some more preschool stuff. Saved me from doing any work =) I should have taken a nap or something fun like that.

(ok, I did preschool stuff with Mike and she helped)

So, now she seems better - thankfully. Now I just have to give her one more dose of albuterol and then it's off to bed. Hopefully the effects wear off before she wakes up. She's already chatty enough!

Oh, goodness, now Mike is starting! I think he's coming down with a cold as well. I guess it's off to prepare for round 2.

Until next time.....

I hate hearing the sound of those hacking coughs in my house, it drives me up the wall.

Yucky for all the sicky stuff you are going through.

I actually have insight her. Both of my boys are asthmatic as am I. My oldest is severe and chronic and we have had many midnight rushed trips to the hospital.

Is the albuterol she's taking used with a spacer? That totally helped with the hyper, crazy side effects. If you use it without one, most of the meds just hit the back of the throat and go directly into the bloodstream instead of into the lungs.

Ask for a nebulizer too! They are wonderful for these tougher attacks.

If you have any other questions, email me... I have seen it all!

If this continues, make sure you see a pulmonologist, not just a pediatrician.

Poor Baby! As bad as it is to hear, it's 100x bad for the hacker. When I get a cold, I'd do anything to stop it. I can't imagine having to actually live with it, day in and out.
Best of wishes to you & yours:)
BTW, as I was scrolling down through the post, I wasn't sure what kind of hacker your daughter was...I was picturing a "hair" hacker....my kids all hacked off their bangs at one time...usually before a big event:)
