It should be illegal

For the past 4 years, GG has been playing soccer. When Little Dude turned 4 a year and a half ago, he also started playing. They play both in the Fall season and in the Spring season.

We're not supposed to keep score, but as you can imagine, every single kid does. And sometimes the parents! The point is for the kids to have fun and be active. This is why they continue to play each season.

However, I have started to reconsider the Fall season. I'm not a fan of the cold. Our practice field is way at the bottom of a big hill, so it feels colder down there than it really is.

After last night, I am ready to petition the league to push back the start of the Spring season. Last weekend was absolutely gorgeous - perfect soccer playing weather. Last night? It felt more like November.

Let me explain in further detail via my tweets transferred to post-its...

Soccer practice

My ass is freezing

It's too cold for this

Yes, I have to do it all again tonight with the other child. I know we're supposed to make sacrifices for our kids, but this is getting a little out of hand!

Conversations with the kids

I feel old. I'm tired - I don't know how I used to stay up all hours and function on little sleep. My back hurts, my knees creak. My upcoming birthday certainly isn't helping this "I feel old" feeling.

To take my mind of off that, maybe I'll share some stories from the midgets. They always make me laugh!

I do believe Little Dude was trying to make a picture. Of what, I do not know. After the randomness of those questions, I decided it would be best not to know!

These are the conversation I have in the morning. My alarm hadn't even gone off yet and she wants me to play fashion designer? Coffee first. Decisions later.

Spam inflates my ego

Excluding the porn and medications because I try to keep it family friendly over here

Here is a peek at some of the amusing spam comments left by someone or something, along with my input of course!

I would love to have a guest poster! It really is something I have been considering. But it's really hard to get you to do it, Mr. Spambot, because not only are you anonymous, but you're a no-reply!

Um, thanks? But the post you left this on really didn't have anything informative. Just pictures of my kids playing in the snow. Should I be worried now?

Wow! Thanks! You're really starting to inflate my ego! Damn those search engines! I'm sure trying to get your kids to do chores is a highly sought after subject.

Um, what?

Unless you know something that I don't, there aren't any advertisements on my blog. Perhaps you hit the little resize button up there on the top of your browser? I hear that may resize things, too!

Again, inflating the ego! I love it! Since anonymous is a no-reply, I'll just let everyone in on my little secret as to how I made my current blog look so damn good. The Cutest Blog on the Block. See their ad up there on the top left? Wait, does clicking that resize browsers? Be careful then!

If spammers weren't so good at inflating my ego, I might turn anonymous comments off!

Winter shopping tips

Shopping tips

Snow boots

Trust me!
I think we bought the last pair in kid size.

Snow pants

Snow pants

Target

Walmart
And buy your daughter snow pants from the boys department.

Shh... don't tell her that!

And one final tip...

Snow pants

Unless digging snow out of your child's shirt and retucking it in every 10 seconds doesn't bother you. Than by all means, buy the pants.

Fox in Socks

Good grades

This is the grade I give myself.

Why?

I deserve it!

Even if there is a huge slight curve
due to my assignment being very just a tad late

Crochet socks

Those pretty striped socks of perfection you see up there ^^^

Are one of my gifts for GG for her birthday.

Her birthday was mid-November.

But they're done and that's what counts. Even if they're slightly off. If you look real close, one foot is bigger than the other. In my defense I had to adjust the pattern for a bigger foot. And this was my first attempt at making socks.

For future reference, buy your kids socks.

If you want a chance to win one of my crocheted goodies (a teddy bear), go check out this post to find out how! All proceeds go towards a family who tragically lost their little boy.

Post-its: the GG edition

Black Friday
Girls and shopping
Claire's
All afternoon she made sure we knew what time it was

every 2 minutes!!

Justice
Kohl's
Miraculously I talked her out of the snow white boots. Don't get me wrong, they were absolutely adorable, but with my 9 year old, they wouldn't stay snow white for very long!

Her face when we met the final clearance rack was priceless. She could buy more than 1 thing!! And my 15% off coupon only added to her joy!

My face when I saw the bill and what we could have paid? Priceless!

4 super cute v-neck tees and a pair of jeans. The jeans came with a rainbow belt (requirement #1) and had more color on the pants themselves (requirement #2).

Total - just under $23

What we could have paid - $130

Now that is how you shop!
