Oh no you don't

I consider myself lucky in that I married the bestest man. We've been together since high school, so to be honest, I didn't really dapple in the dating scene all that much. So sadly, for you at least, I don't have too many stories. But I do have my standards.

First off, I really don't care much for short guys. I'm 5'4" - not tall by any means, but definitely not short either! I did briefly date a guy way back when and he was shorter than me. I always felt uncomfortable.

I also have this thing where if you're going to hit on me, than make it just me. And let me make it clear (just in case my husband does read this) - you can flirt all you want. I'm still gonna walk away!

Anywho, let me explain this a little further with a story.

A few years ago my mom and I went to the neighborhood bar for a few drinks. And probably karaoke, too. NO we don't sing!!! We just laugh at those who try! I'm drinking my Captain and Coke and she's sipping her gin and tonic. Ok, it was more like Captain and Gin. Let's just say my favorite bartender is a little generous. But in the end it saves me money. 2 is really all you need to start feeling pretty happy.

So we're drinking and chatting when we see this guy sitting by himself at the little table behind us. We both recognize him as the guy who lives down the street from my mom. Kind of an odd man, but one of those people you say hi to in passing. He starts talking to me, asking things like my name, was I from the area. There was a compliment somewhere in there as well. I politely thanked him and turned around to finish my drink. He then starts talking to my mom and asking her the same things. Finally my mom explains that nothing will come from him talking to either one of us and she mentions that she's my mom.

He's shocked and says he thought we were friends. Maybe I looked older than he thought or my mom looked younger than he thought. I'm going to go with the second of those 2 thoughts. I mean after all, I was carded the other night! I'm not that old, but I'm old enough to not be carded anymore. I think that lady made my night! And, yes, I do think my mom looks younger than she really is.

So where was I? Right - he found out we were mother/daughter. Apparently this excited him. He starts hinting at the 3 of us getting together and...you know.

EW!!!!!
and
HELL NO!!!!!

I love my mom, but again, hell and no!

Even if I wasn't married at the time, that still would have been a deal breaker!

So what's your dealbreaker? Go check out
SupahMommy and MommyBrain to read, what I'm sure will be some funny stories. Maybe add your own!

Until next time...
