My Plan

I've read quite a few blogs over the past couple of days where people are talking about their resolutions. I've decided that a resolution is basically setting yourself up for failure. At least in my case. I've tried to set one every year and it always falls through. I know I can blame no one but myself for that, but this year I'm doing something different. You can call it a resolution, but I am calling them goals.

I know I've said in some recent comments and to people around me that exercising is a resolution, but it's really more of a timing thing. You see, I have a bad knee. Actually it's both of them, but one more than the other. I've done the whole see the doctor and get a cortisone shot thing. And, btw, those shots are NOT fun! I started using my Wii Fit more after that pain from that shot wore off and it seemed to help. My doctor said if that seems to work than stick with it and I don't need to come back unless it starts bothering me again.

Well, I fell off the exercise wagon a few months ago

Wagon
and, lo and behold, my pains have returned. It got real bad after I started wearing my new boots all the time, but let me just make it clear....I am NOT going to stop wearing those things. I love them way too much! They're like that one bad for you snack that sometimes, you just have to have.

So instead of putting my boots in the back of my closet, I'll just exercise more.

My other goals of the year.....

Spend more time on friendships. I don't want to lose the ones that I have (irl or any that I've made through my blog). I also want to be more friendly and approachable at places such as my daughter's school.

I'd also like to spend more time of my crochet stuff. I already spend a lot of time making things, but then what do I do with the stuff? I have been tossing around the idea of setting up a web page and tying to sell stuff. I was trying to avoid the Etsy shop route because my husband can hook me up with some web page stuff, but we'll see what ends up being the best route. Assuming I go ahead with this idea.

Me and C also need to work on more date nights. There's always a movie we want to see or a restaurant we love and want to visit, but we never actually go.

I also want to get more organized. Wait, scratch that one. It won't happen. When you have too much stuff that you actually use and not enough space, organization goes right out the window! Next year when both kids are in school I'll have the time to go through everything without little voices protesting that I am throwing away their favorite toy that they haven't seen let alone played with in months!

But let's not rush the idea of both kids being in school. I'm no where near mentally prepared for that yet.

Well, I guess I should get back to finding a place for the good section of Toys R Us in my living room courtesy of the in-laws. Wait, is that organizing? Maybe I don't need to completely scratch that off my list!

Too many toys

Until next time...

Good luck with your goals!

I love date nights, but we're losing our free babysitter to college next week, so I'm going to have to come up with another plan for that.

Good luck with the goals you set. I don't really have many, other than to be healthier and I hope to jump on my elliptical tomorrow. My problem is that I just get bored so easily. I need to push through. So here's to both of us. LOL

I love the way you look at this as goals. That is wonderful. I know our Christmas tree lights will stay up for awhile because they are frozen to the house.

Happy Sunday..

Great resolutions! I've resolved to make time for the important things and worry less about the unimportant. :)

I have bad knees, too. (One is worse than the other.) They are so fussy. If I don't exercise they hurt. And if I exercise too much they hurt. They are like the Goldilocks of body parts. The Wii Fit doesn't hurt yours? I may have to try that again.

I'm all about the goals as opposed to the resolutions.
