My Pride and Joy

Wordful Wednesday
brought to you by

he's gonna kill me for sharing this
he fought tooth and nail just for me to take the picture!

But anyway, my pride and joy. And I'm referring to the blanket and not the man underneath, although he does mean the world to me!

Brief background - I taught myself to crochet earlier this year. Once I got the hang of it, I needed a project. I said, "Self! Make a blanket!". All I had to do was make squares using the basic, easy stitch and sew them together. It was late April when I started this beast and thought it would be a great Father's day gift!

Well, I finished making this about 2 weeks ago. I guess it works out because you can't really use blankets in the summer. I gave it to ym husband on Monday as an anniversary gift. He loved it! And as an extra bonus, it's still early in football season. In case you can't tell, he's a Bears fan!

Until next time...

You did such a great job on the blanket! It doesn't look like he could be that comfortable lying like that though. LOL

I have been self-teaching crochet and knitting for a couple of years. I can do basic mittens, but now I am working on about three different blankets. So much fun!

My sister crochets, so I know it takes a lot to finish one of these babies! Great job!
