Meme Loves Friends

It's time for Meme Monday

Hosted by SupahMommy and MommyBrain

This week the topic.......

Drum roll please.....

Let me just warn that I am a Friends junkie!!!! I have seen every single episode many, many times and can probably quote too many lines to even begin to count! I mean, I own the Friends board game for crying out loud!!!

  • Favorite episodes - too many...can't do that
  • Compare real life friends to the show - I got the girls covered, but not the boys...won't do that
  • Relive a childhood memory of a friend - can't do that!!! I incriminated myself in this Meme. Guess that's what I get when my mom reads the blog. Oops!!

So here's some reasons why I can relate to each character from one of the greatest tv shows E-V-E-R.....
Great...now I'm talking like Chandler

Phoebe: Hey. What'cha guys doing?
Richard
: Monica's making us watch Old Yeller.
Phoebe
: Why are you guys so upset? It's Old Yeller. It's a happy movie.
Rachel
: What?
Ross
: What are you talking about?
Phoebe
: Come on. Happy family gets a dog; frontier fun.
Ross
: Yeah, but Pheebs, what about the end?
Phoebe
: What, when Yeller saves saves the family from the wolf and everyone's happy?
Rachel
: That's not the end.
Phoebe
: Uh huh. That's when my mother would shut off the TV and say "The end."
Monica
: What about the part where he has rabies?
Phoebe
: He doesn't have rabies, he has babies. That's what my mom said.
Richard
: Uh, Phoebe, I don't think your mom would want you to see what's about to happen.
Phoebe
: What, what's about to happen? (Watching the TV) I've never seen this part before. Hey, Travis, what'cha doing with that gun? Oh no. No, no Travis, put down the gun. No, no, no, no, he, he's your buddy, he's your Yeller. No, no, no, the end! The end! Okay, what kind of sick doggy snuff film is this?!

See, when I was little my mom thought I would love this movie. It's about a family and a dog and it's Disney. All around goodness, right? WRONG!!!! She failed to watch the movie before she let me watch it. Oops!! What have I learned from this? Someone almost always dies in Disney movies (ie. Bambi) and always watch a movie before your kids!

Moving on....one day on Facebook I noticed that everyone was taking a quiz to see which Friends character you were like. Well, I got Chandler. I was not so pleased with that. I don't do anything like Chandler, especially when talking. I don't sound like that. That is so not true. That is so not... That is so not... Oh, shut up!

Monica...I'm like her in a lot of ways. OCD, but not completely over the top like she is. That's the lady across the street from me!!! My house might be a mess, but disturb my nicknacks and put my books in a different order, I will kick you a$$!!! And the sarcasm...well that might as well be my middle name!

Ross...well, I can't come up with any good reasons why I'm kinda like his character other than the episode when him and Rachel finally get back together. One of my favorites (of many)!

Warning!!! Sappy moment!!!

It makes me think of me and Chris. It was always him! Go check out my other Monday post and you can read why.

And speaking of Rachel, I loved her character, but she was kinda ditzy at times. I have definitely had my share of moments, but who hasn't. You've had them, too, right? Please say I'm not the only one!!!

Joey - he was always good for a laugh. Enter my fiery sarcasm. When things get rough, look for me to come out with a wacky one liner that will make you almost pee your pants or shoot liquids out of your nose (that's always fun).

So there you have it - my ramblings about one of my favorite shows ever! I hope you enjoyed!

Until next time...

Great post :) We were just talking about that friends episode with Phoebe this weekend!!! As I was fast forwarding through Finding Nemo, my sister made reference to it. I made the mistake the first time I showed him that movie to let him see the whole thing....this scared him so badly! "Where did the mama go?" he asked over and over. I finally told him that she went to work! Poor guy will be just like Phoebe when he gets older :)

I haven't seen friends in so long. I think I'm more like Phoebe then the others. LOL I guess that's not saying much for myself. HUH. lol

I watched the end at a bar in Minneapolis with about 250 other people.

Tom Hanks once famously said that it is now written in topiary at Disney - "Do not kill off the dog." because of Tuner and Hooch.

no merchandising a dead doggie.

Sick, huh?

I only remember seeing Friends episodes on rerun...I wasn't too into it when it was on. My favorite was Phoebe though. Anyone that can pass herself off as sane and sing a song about a "Smelly Cat" is number one in my book!

Happy Wednesday! Just stopping by from SITS. I love Friends too! It's amazing how much of our lives was dominated by that show, and how deeply invested I was in Ross and Rachel that I wept--oh yes, I wept--at the final episode.

Thanks for sharing!
