Motherhood

Angie over at 7 Clown Circus hosts Wordful Wednesday. It's great for me because I love to show off pictures but can't keep my fingers from frantically typing some sort of explanation!

This week's theme, if you choose to accept it, is Motherhood. The definition of that changes for me about as often as I change my underwear! Ok, not that often, but here's what I think about motherhood this week...

Motherhood means spending $14.25 on your daughter. Doesn't sound like much at first. See those little things lined up on the end of GG's dresser? We call them Squishies. They're animal pencil toppers made of soft rubber that come from a quarter machine at our grocery store.

I have come to the conclusion that GG needs to form a SA group.....Squishies Anonymous. She is not the only child who collects these animal thingies. All of her friends have them, too. It is to the point that for the past 2 years, they have been banned from the classroom!

And the sad thing is, this line up does not have ALL of her Squishies! There are more circulating the house. They pop up just as I'm about to run the vacuum over one of them. There are also giant ones. Like 5 times bigger! We have a collection of those as well.

It seemed like a good idea at first. "Oh, I have a quarter or 2. Here ya go! Get an animal!"
$14.25 and counting.....I think she needs an intervention! And I need to stop enabling!

Until next time...

that is so funny... kind of, I understand those crazy obsessions. I'm always stepping or finding some jedi or a storm trooper or something along those lines around here

I used to love those quarter machines. I remember trying to save quarters however I could to get little rings and things.

$14.25 isn't too bad though. That's cheaper than most toys these days!

When does this collection obsession thing begin? I don't do well with lots of little things all over the house ... it fights too hard against my inner control freak!

That is the funniest definition of motherhood that I have read today:-)

My son and I get that way too. Now does she need the intervention or do you. I'm sure you have been supplying her with those quarters and well driving her to the store. LOL the first step to getting better is admitting you have a problem. LOL

Loved the way you approached the topic of motherhood. It does mean that we will spend money on the funniest of things, doesn't it?

You are definitely not alone on this one. :)
