Round Robin & Pork

It's time again for Round Robin hosted by Amy @ Keeping up with the Schultz family. I was going to show off my latest crochet project, but it seems like that's what I do every round. Instead I'm going to show off an awesome recipe I found.

I was scrolling through my dashboard like I do every morning as I sip my coffee and eat a bowl of Special K Red Berries. Suddenly I see something about pork chops. Steven @ Life in the Fish Bowl loves to cook and he loves to share some recipes. One of my real life friends mentioned pork chops the day before so seeing this recipe must have been a sign I needed to cook some myself.

Apple Sage Pork Chops

Apple sage pork chops

Tell me this doesn't look awesome!

I'm not going to steal his thunder, so if you want the recipe, go visit Life in the Fish Bowl. He has a great blog so you won't be disappointed.

It turns out that the day after I came across this recipe I had to do some grocery shopping. The cupboards were completely empty! looking a little bare. I checked my spice rack to see what I had and added what I needed to my list. I loaded the kids in the car and header for the store.

Fast forward to me standing in the spice aisle looking like a fish out of water. Who knew there were that many spices out there!!! Of course the ones I needed were the ones I couldn't find. Suddenly I spot the greatest thing ever invented.

Spices for apple sage pork chops

All of the spices I need
for apple sage pork chops
pre-measured in a neat little package!

I think I heard angels sing when I spotted this!

No buying a whole bottle of a spice that I probably won't use in the near future

No measuring and dirtying all my measuring spoons
(fewer dishes = happy me)

And the best part...

Little Dude could help me cook! All I had to do was open the little packages and hand them over so he could add them to the flour. Chances are if Little Dude helps cook, he will eat every last bite of the meal.

Chef Mike

Honestly, I think these were the best pork chops I have had in a long time. Of course Little Dude ate all of his, plus his sister's apples and onions. She wasn't a fan of those. The husband ate it, but he's not a fan of sweet mixed with pork. Regardless, I WILL make these again (sorry honey).

Thanks for the recipe Steven!

Until next time...
.

Okay, that spice thing is too awesome!

We just had pork and apples this week. We use pork loin cut thin, applesauce, a can of apple pie filling, and pork stuffing and it's amazing. So yummy and easy.

Those spice packets are pretty much the greatest thing invented since sliced bread. Or epidurals. Either way, I love 'em! The chops look nummy, I'll have to give that recipe a try.
