Our egg-ceptional Weekend

Easter is over and I must say, I'm somewhat happy about that. It was a crazy day. Actually the whole weekend was crazy, but I'll get into that in another post.

My day started off a little to bright and early for me. I was drug out of bed at 8am. Now, I realize that may not be early for everyone because we all know that kids have a way of getting up at the butt crack of dawn, no matter how busy the day before was or how late they went to bed the night before. But for me, it's early. Chris usually lets me sleep til noon in on the weekends. Here is what I heard when my eyelids cracked open...

I see eggs!

I want to do the egg hunt!

Where's my basket!?!

I proceeded to slump myself down the stairs and plop on the couch so the kids could find their eggs. Unfortunately, this was pre-coffee, so I had a little trouble remembering where the bunny hid the eggs! Finally all the eggs were found and the kids munched on a few Gold Fish and Teddy Grahams that were inside those eggs. We then continued on to find the baskets. Little Dude finally found his. He was standing at the edge of the dining room staring into the kitchen when he finally saw his dog basket. It was tucked in a corner up high. Now onto GG. Her first stop was the fridge because that's where it always is. Oops! She went all through the first floor, all over the second floor, and finally down into the basement. It took me banging on the dryer for her to realize she had to look in there. I think she forgot we had a dryer because it doesn't work!

We had some of our hard-boiled egg for breakfast, followed by some things from their baskets. Then it was time to get dressed and head to Grandma and Pap's house for another egg hunt and baskets. When that was done, we stopped at home to pick up what we needed to go to my mom's house. At my mom's they each got little treats and then went straight outside to ride their scooters. GG had a scooter, Little Dude got his Spider Man scooter on Sunday. Thank goodness it was a nice day. We haven't had a warm sunny Easter in quite some time. There have been years where it has even snowed on Easter!

Dinner at my mom's was sooooo good! The ham was just right, my pasta salad was a hit, and Chris made asparagus, which everyone loves! We also had pineapple stuffing, fruit salad, potatoes, carrots.... yum, yum, yum!!!

All in all, it was a great day and the perfect end to a great weekend. I wish I had some pictures to share, but for once I was too busy to take pictures. Or maybe the kids were flying around too fast for me to get any good ones!

Until next time....

It sounds like you had a fantastic time! I miss having little ones around to do this with. I am on to grandchildren but my grandson is not old enough to "get it" this year. He is 8 months. I HAVE TWO MORE ON THE WAY!!!

I am taking notes on all these ideas. Goldfish & teddy grahams in the eggs. Instead of m&ms. Less upset when eggs no longer yield chocolate.

Glad you had a great day! Despite the lack of early morning coffee.
