Another one of our traditions is to put our tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Sometimes I actually get it up on Black Friday, but that's a rare occurrence!
My favorite tradition is Christmas cookies. I load the kids up and we head to my mom's. We usually make Kiss cookies, reindeer cookies, and my favorite, 7-layer bars. I wish I had the recipe for reindeer cookies because they are so stinkin cute, but I don't. I think you make gingerbread cookies and cut them into oval shapes. Pinch the middle of the oval. Stick on red hots for the nose, chocolate chips for the eyes, and mini pretzels for the antlers. They're very fragile, but oh so good and fun to make.
Here's the recipe for the best "cookie" ever.....

1 stick butter
1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 14oz can condensed milk
1 - 11oz bag of chocolate chips
1 - 11oz bag butterscotch chips
1/2 bag coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat over to 350
Melt butter in a 9x13 pan. Do this in the oven while it's preheating.
Spread graham cracker crumbs in the pan
Layer - chips, nuts, condensed milk, coconut
Bake 25 - 30 minutes.
Other than being so incredibly awesome by tasting out of this world, you only need to dirty up one pan. There's nothing I love more than a 1 dish recipe!

Sorry about the mess with the link. I grabbed your link and you are now at the party and ready to go. I am going to make these for sure. Thanks for sharing your traditions too. I also wanted to say Thank you for blogging about my giveaway...
Stopping by from round robin! I've actually made these before and can attest to their goodness and yummyness! mmmmmmmmm We make them without the walnuts and they are just as grand!
thanks for coming by today. I hope you picked up the friend award..
I am sitting around on a Sunday making cookies and Jelly just asked when we were going to make our 7 layer bars. I am trying to catch up on my reader and find your post about the cookies and had to chuckle. It was meant to be and I guess I will be making them now.
That is my favorite cookie in the world. And I try really hard not to discriminate against cookies. And the best part about them is that the kids don't like them.
There is every kind of goodness in your cookie!!!
You rock! Thanks for the recipe!!!
