Adult haircut

I had 4 inches cut off. Like I said, that's a lot considering I only get my hair cut once, maybe twice a year. I really need to stay on top of that!

Excuse the mess - I just took my ponytail out. I just wanted to show off my hair. I'll put more effort into it next time. I promise.

Girl's haircutLong or short, I would kill for this little girl's hair!! Poker straight and natural highlights. Her hair is already starting to show some so blond it's almost white streaks. People pay lots of money for that, ya know!!

Anyway, her hair was darn close to her waist!! She wanted it cut up to her ears, but I nixed that! We compromised on just below the shoulders.

Then I had to tick her off again by refusing to buy the purple, pink, and blue hair extensions! They were $10 a pop! Um... no!!!

I figure I'll spray her hair red and blue again for the 4th. The blue washes right out, but the red turns to pink and stays in for months! She almost went back to school last Fall with pink hair!

By the way, I must share her 'tude after her hair cut. I was squirming sitting in the chair watching her in the mirror as she walked back to waiting area. She was flipping her hair over her shoulders as she strutted across the floor!!! That kind of attitude is the complete opposite of me as a child. Sometimes I wonder if it really was a stork that brought her to me!

Post-it note Tuesday

Leave me some love and then head on over to Supah's page for more post-it notes.

Don't forget to check out my guest post please!!!

Who Are You? Who Who

friday-follow

I just realized that in the past week I have blogged about crack and Dagos. That's probably not a good way to gain followers. In fact I lost a few. Was that the reason?

Seriously those posts aren't what you think. I promise! If you want to go peek, I'll wait. That will give a few minutes to figure out what the heck I want to blog about today. There's so much going on up in my head!

I guess I could tell you about... um... er... ooo.... who. Who? That's it! The owls!

GG asked me lasst weekend if I could crochet her an owl. Sounds easy enough, right? Apparently not. We looked up tons a few different patterns. Nothing struck her fancy. The one she finally went balistic over was the pattern I'd have to pay for. Let me just state here and now that I don't like to pay for things if I don't have to. I went through a bunch of other patterns I have, looked through my crochet answer book, and came up with...

Who who

I should have figured that Little Dude would want one, too. It's fairly easy to make so I'm starting to whip one up for him. It gives me a break from putting my sweater together. It seems that when the temps outside hit 80 or above, one no longer has the desire to make a sweater. Go figure!

Speaking of sweaters, I cam across a beautiful shawl pattern. It would look awesome with my black dress I plan on wearing when I go see the Phantom of the Opera later this year.

I think I'm a little ADD when it comes to crochet projects. But it keeps me out of trouble!

Along with my love for crocheting, I also love comments. So if you're stopping in from Follow Friday, let me know. If you decide to follow me I will worship the ground you walk on look forward to getting to know you!

Keep an eye out next week for an update on the Lego house. It's getting big! I also have a very special guest poster coming up as well!

FF - Kiddie Crack

friday-follow

Yep, you read that right. Friday Follow is back by popular demand. Spread the word, make this viral. Get to know some new people and maybe get to know the ones you already know a little better. Click the button for more details!

If you're visiting me from Follow Friday, welcome to my piece of the net.

Yet again, it's been a crazy week. I tried getting stuff done around the house, and I was somewhat successful, but it's been so hot! A gradual warm-up would have been nice, but we jumped straight to 90 degree weather. I guess that's what I get. Last Fall all I wanted was 1 good winter with a decent snow. I didn't mean 3+ feet from 2 storms only days apart, but that's what we got. All winter I said we better have a hot summer so we can swim all the time. Well, it's been hot and the pools aren't even open yet!

The kids and I pick the husband up from work everyday. I've learned with this heat that it is better for my everyone's sanity if we just turn the AC on in the car. Yesterday I'm glad I did. I learned a valuable lesson and that was it is not wise to take fruit roll-ups for a snack in the car when it's 90 degrees outside.

I tried to avoid looking at other drivers around me but I'm sure they were giving me all kinds of crazy looks. I assume this because I'm sure I looked like a fool holding a fruit roll-up in front of the vent, on full blast mind you. I was trying to harden the stupid snack so I could peel the paper off! Good thing GG pointed out the melt factor early and told Little Dude to have me help him. I reached behind me to grab his snack to discover he already took a bite of his still rolled fruit roll-up. I'm not positive but I think he ate some of the paper. Oops!

While I was holding the roll-ups in front of the AC like an ass, the kids were able to keep themselves occupied with their kiddie crack.

kiddie crack

I don't know what is in this stuff but I can't think of any kid in this area that can't get within 100 feet of the convenient store without getting the shakes. They ne-e-e-ed their Bug Juice! I finally got smart and starting saving a few bottles to refill with the less sugary crack-less juice I make at home. Just not this day. It was too damn hot to argue with the boy over juice.

I have a few other stories from the week. There's the one where Little Dude's soccer coach thought he wanted a Dago. Or the one about our truck that we just got rid of. That one's bittersweet.

But I know there's other blogs on Friday. So get reading, get linked, and get to mingling.

Thanks for stopping by!
