Buggy Boo

As many of you know

This week's challenge is to find a bug and hold it for 5 seconds.

I would like to take a moment here to point out that it is March.
In Pittsburgh.
In other words... NOT BUG SEASON!

Usually that's a good thing, just not this past week. I would also like to point out that I do not like bugs. I can handle worms, potato bugs, or an ant. Yes, AN ant. More than one just gives me the heebee jeebees, but I'll save that story for another time.

Anyway, Little Dude and I dug. And dug. And dug. Finally we found a bug, i held it, I recorded it, and I called it a day. There are no special effects in my video for 2 reasons:

1. I have no desire to watch the video again

2. My glasses broke. I'm lucky I made it this far into a post. Just picture me as that nerdy kid in high school with the tape on the glasses. Do I get anything for having a handicap?

So anyways, here's my video. While you're watching, see if you can catch Little Dude running away. He hates touching bugs more than me. I didn't think that was possible!

If you're brave enough
you can head over to Supah's Survivor blog
to watch more creepy buggy flicks

Until next time....

Peek-a-BOO
Challenge 5

Challenge #5
Scare the crap out of someone
and catch in on video

Easy-peasy

Ok, not so much

Little Dude scares so easily it's not even funny. I had everything set up to scare the crap out of him. He grabbed a few diggers, sat in front of my computer, and made a movie. I snuck up behind him and, POW! He screamed and ran away. Now here comes the problem - you couldn't hear a darn thing on the replay. I fiddled with the computer. Chris fiddled with the computer. Nothing. I gave up and figured I'd come up with something on Tuesday.

Well, guess what? Tuesday morning I woke up sick as a dog - achy, tired, couldn't talk above a whisper. I finally caved and went to see my doc and it turns out I have strep throat. So much for jumping out and scaring someone by screaming. But I did come up with a plan. Like I said, I couldn't figure out the audio for the life of me. I'm lucky I understand the whole webcam thing! But my plan is still good for a laugh. Check this out...

You love me right? Wasn't that video worth your time?

Anyway, here's the real thing. The kids wanted to get on You Tube and see videos like the one I just made. The only scary movie that I could think was the Michael Jackson movie. You know, the one where Larry King is showing the inside of Neverland and there's a ghost walking across the hallway. And then the crazy bugger of a ghost pops up at the end, too. Well of course I had to get a video of the kids watching THAT!

Until next time....

House of Cards

Challenge 4
Build a House of Cards

I think I am pretty creative so I thought this challenge would be easy. Heck, I used to build card houses all the time as a kid!

I went out and bought a few more decks of cards, upping my total number of decks to 6. Then GG wanted to help out and gave me yet another deck of cards. I had visions of a card mansion with me standing next to said masterpiece.

Yeah right!!!

I got level number one down. I came pretty close to completing level number 2. If I got to level 3, it would crash. Every single time!!! Finally after hours of squinting, maneuvering, and a few choice words, I finished 3 levels and called it a night.

Card house

I was so proud of myself, but then realized I still had 24 hours until I had to submit my post with pictures. The competitive side of me is starting to come out to play.

Card house
Don't believe I made that all by myself?
Well, here I am

with my house o' cards!

Card house
And by the way, it did not take 7 decks of cards to build this sucker. It only took 3. The real reason I need so many cards is because I am making something out of them. If you stop back on Friday, I'll show you a preview of some of the things that will be going in my Etsy shop.

Etsy
It is open
and I'm getting ready

to put some stuff in my shop.

Keep an eye out

for the grand opening soon!

What I Meant to Say
Stuff This!

Ok, here's the deal. I'm playing Supah's Survivor game. Each blogger is assigned a character on the show. If your character makes it to the end, you win some huge prize. I, however, will not see this prize (unless the winner posts a pic of it) because Randy had to go and be a dumbass and was voted off last week.

But I can still play for the weekly prizes.

For challenge #3, we were asked how many big marshmallows we could stuff in our mouth.
please save me the embarrassment and come back tomorrow

Seriously, when I heard this I was ready to throw in the towel, but I sucked it up and decided to take this challenge on. Yesterday I bought my bag o' mallows and all day I tried to come up with some sort of strategy. Luckily, Chris wasn't feeling well last night and spent a good bit of time upstairs in bed sleeping. The last thing I needed was for him to walk in on me. I would never live this challenge down!

Anyways, I got all dolled up and ready to go. And by all dolled up, I mean I threw on my team colors and brushed my hair. My team colors came in the form of one of my Pens shirts, which unfortunately can't be seen in the video. Why? Because it was under my boa. When I finished making an ass out of myself my video, I surprisingly felt quite proud. Not only was my number higher than I thought it would be, but it felt good to do something goofy. I haven't done something nearly as wacky in quite some time. And it felt really good to let my hair down.

You didn't think I was really all that happy about this, did you?
What I really meant to say is...

Hey SupahMommy! What the hell were you thinking when you came up with this challenge?!? Have you been watching the Blue Man Group or something? Like this challenge isn't bad enough, but then you want me to post it on my blog and then link up on the Survivor blog so other people can see this!!! Seriously woman, have you been hitting the bottle a little too much?

But really, Supah, you are awesome and I do appreciate you forcing asking me to do this stuff your face thing. It felt good to be silly! And just so you know, if I would have had blue face paint, I so would have gone all Blue Man!

Oh, and Princess... you can have the title of boa wear-er! I tried being all "go team colors" but that thing is itchy as hell! I should have gone with the black and gold hat!

Ok, time to put my big girl pants on and publish this awesome feat of mine! Enjoy!

Until next time....

Challenge #2
My "Buff"on

Supah Survivor challenge #2 was issued last Friday. I will admit that this one was a little harder for me than the first. I mean, the first challenged I had to use my mad crafting skillz to make a Valentine. Easy peasy! This challenge took a little more thought and work.

I had to create a button that represent myself. Here's what I came up with...

Little button

Why long island iced tea, y0u ask? Well let me explain...

I'm sure you're all aware that there are a lot of ingredients in this drink. Like the drink, there are many parts, ingredients if you will, that make up who I am. I can be sweet and quiet. I can also be loud and bitchy. All of the ingredients in this drink work well together, thus creating something very good. I can also use all the different parts of me to work well with others.

Stirred, not shaken... let me explain that. When something is stirred, the ingredients move in different directions causing them to mix together properly. I can also move in different directions in order to help myself and others reach a goal. Shaking things usually causes a mess and if you shake me up... well, it's not pretty. I may only be a teeny bit Irish, but that teeny bit has quite a temper!

If the different parts of me are stirred together the right way, I can accomplish any challenge placed in front of me.

But like a Long Island Iced Tea, in the end, I will kick your ass!
